Understanding Visibility
Visibility is another important consideration. You want your sign to be visible from great distances – but you do not want it to be too garish and gaudy, because that is going to turn people away rather than attracting them. It is all a matter of taste and understanding the previous tip that less is always more. However, in this tip we are also dealing with the importance of graphics and logos whenever possible in order to make sure that your sign is successful as a form of advertising. Visibility also deals with the location of where you hang your sign, such as whether you hang it up inside of your place of business or outside so that it can catch the eyes of passing pedestrians and drivers. As you can see, there are a number of things to consider here but doing so will definitely ensure your success.
Without a doubt, you want your vinyl banner to be visible. That is the whole purpose of being able to advertise with a custom made banner or sign. There are definitely things you can do to increase your banner's visibility. By the same token, however, you want to make sure that it is visible and eye catching for a good reason. You definitely do not want people checking out your sign because they find it too gaudy, too flashy, or too ostentatious. They say all publicity is good publicity, but that is not always the case.
The key here is, of course, to make sure that people will be able to notice your banner from a far distance away. Even if they cannot read it from far away, you want something on it to catch a person's eye so much that he or she feels compelled to come closer and see what exactly the banner is advertising.
Insofar as this goes, size is definitely a factor. Less may be more but bigger is definitely better. You want a big, bright, eye catching banner. Do not go with something small. Be larger than life, just make sure that you do it tastefully.
Now, with that much size, you have a lot of opportunities when it comes to what you do with your graphics, your color, and your font face choices. You want to ride the delicate balance of being innovative and eye catching without going overboard, however.
Once again, you want to make sure that neither your font face nor the graphic or logo you choose to go on your banner or too small. You want them to be large enough to attract notice but not so large that they completely swallow everything else up and make any of the other aspects difficult to notice.
Everything needs to flow together flawlessly. Every single component needs to complement every other component. That way, you will be getting more bang for your buck, so to speak, as well as ensuring that your banner grabs the attention of anyone who passes by it. That is the key to a successful advertising campaign.
