Outdoor Yard Signs and their Advertising
Advertising with yard signs is an effective way to promote your message or your service company in your local community. Uses for these type of signs include Election campaigns, real estate, service businesses both professional and construction based. They are small signs placed on lawns and roadsides. The outdoor signs come in many shapes and sizes, but are most often rectangular and between 12 and 40 inches on each side. ,/p>
In the past, yard signs, also known as bandit signs or lawn signs, have been constructed from cardboard or coated paperboard of varying thickness. It is set onto a wood frame with either heavy-duty staples or nails with plastic washers. Corrugated plastic outdoor signs have become more common for small to medium-sized companies since the late 1990’s. With two outer sides sandwiching a series of flutes that give the sign structure and strength, these signs are constructed just like corrugated cardboard. They can be attached to a wooden structure or set with a metal frame made of wire.
The “H” frame is the most common type of outdoor yard sign frame in use today. These wire frames have at least 2 tines that can be inserted into the flutes of the corrugated plastic signs. On the other end of the frame, the tines can be inserted into the ground. A single or double crossbar between the two tines adds strength and makes the entire frame one single unit. This also prevents the sign from sliding down the tines.
The 30 MPH rule for companies and businesses is important for the effectiveness of an outdoor lawn sign marketing campaign. The rule states that on roads that have speed limits of 30 MPH or less, a small yard sign is best. For example, a sign roughly 18 “ x 24” would be good. But when a vehicle’s speed exceeds 30 MPH, then larger bandit signs are needed. In these cases, a minimum of 2’ x 4’ are necessary because of the lack of time for a driver speeding down the road or interstate has to see and commit the name to memory.
At one point or another in their life, most people have used outdoor signs for one reason or another. Whether it’s selling lemonade, supporting a political candidate, advertising a yard sale, directing traffic, or selling real estate, custom outdoor bandit signs alert friends, neighbors and consumers to what’s happening in the community.
How can you use outdoor signs to your advantage? Well, first figure out who you want to reach with your lawn sign, what your yard sign is attempting to express to them and how to make it stand out so consumers cannot miss or ignore it. Cheap outdoor signs are an effective, inexpensive way to make a point, sale, or mark a celebration in one’s life.
Use yard signs to attract attention to your property, product, service or event. You can make signs in any shape and color. Promote your business with a unique sign and stand-out from the crowd!
