A MESSAGE FROM THE BANNER BARON
I grew up reading newspapers, but now, like most people, I get my news from online outlets. Except, I’m just not sure if half of what I read is actually news. A scan of today’s headlines finds stories on a new tattoo removal cream, the cancellation of a daytime TV show that I (and apparently most Americans) have never seen, and the first “in costume” photo of the guy who’s going to play Aquaman in a movie that’s coming out IN A YEAR! Also, Kanye is upset with Amber, the British rock band Blur is putting out a new album, and Kim Jong Un is sporting a new haircut. Oh, and the actor who played Screech in Saved by the Bell broke out in hives during a court appearance. People are getting PAID to research and write this stuff! I’m sure this “news” is important to somebody but it’s not really speaking to me. So today, I read the local “newspaper” online and discovered that they’re staying pretty close to their roots. Solid reporting of important stories relevant to my life and my ability to run my business and provide for my family while helping my employees provide for theirs. You go, you seasoned journalists and newcomers following this grand American tradition! You write. I’ll read. Now here’s a news item that MY readers will want to hear. If you use the promo codes at the top of our emails, you can save big money. Spread the word.
