I coordinated a presentation to a Chamber of Commerce group recently, suggesting ways for exhibitors to create a bigger impact at trade shows and expos. I thought I would pass along a basic but important tip in hope that you find will find it helpful. The minute you receive your registration materials (and possibly an exhibitors manual), sit down, turn off your phone, pick up a yellow highlighter, and study, study, study.
Here are just a few things that you should be looking for:
+Load-in and load-out dates and times
+Restrictions on the sizes and dimensions (especially height) of signs, banners, and displays.
+Requirements and due dates for certificates of insurance, permits, and inspection documents.
+What is included with your booth (pipe and drape, a table, and two chairs for example) and what may not be (carpet, electricity, lights, and wastebasket).
The more you know it and the sooner you know it the better prepared you’ll be for the big day (or the big week!).
