A MESSAGE FROM THE BANNER BARON
I’ve always wanted to be able to dance like James Brown, and last week’s release of “Get On Up” reminded me why. Every time the shimmy started, all eyes were on the Godfather of Soul, and no one dared to interrupt the funk. There are precious few things I have in common with this man, but there are two I can point out. First, he was an innovator in his field. And not just with his music, but with the BUSINESS side of the music industry as well. He was way ahead of his time. And I’d like to think that I—with the help of my impressive management and production team—am revolutionizing the Sign Business.
Which you might think is me flattering myself until I mention the other thing I have in common with the late entertainer. Our height. He was, and I am, comparatively diminutive in physical stature. But so was Napoleon. And Picasso, Gandhi, Beethoven, Houdini, and Charlie Chaplin. And Genghis Khan. Mmmm. Maybe I should quit while I’m ahead. Say it loud! I’m short and I’m proud! But there’s nothing short about this week’s savings! Sorry. Couldn’t resist.
