A Message From the Banner Baron:
Yesterday while shopping online – my favorite kind of shopping of course – I needed more information than was available the vendor’s website. Their 800 number was plastered on every page, so without hesitation, I called it. A recorded voice listed some options, none of which addressed my needs, so I used the “0” trick which sent me back to the original greeting, not the operator as I had hoped. Now, my excitement starting to wane, I punched “1” for sales and found another phone tree. I selected the coolest sounding name, and was connected—once again—to a recorded message. I got a pleasant greeting and an invitation to leave a message for a call back, only this mail box was full! Ok – bad luck, maybe let’s try this again? I started over, got to the second tree, selected another name, and this time I got a real live person. Success! Or so I thought. Until I realized that this person did not have the answer to my question. I asked about the other staff member, the one with whom I had already tried to leave a message. Maybe they could help? “Oh, she no longer works here.” Hmm. Might anyone else know about “the current promotional offer which includes free shipping”? “Oh, yes, that’s (name omitted to protect the guilty). I’ll connect you!” – and this marked the end of my interaction with a live human, as I was then transferred to, you guessed it, voice mail! Frustrated that I could not seem to convince anyone at this company to take my money in exchange for their products, I hung up the phone, and started searching for another supplier.
I would like to take this opportunity to promise you that when you call eSigns.com during customer service hours, our helpful human staff will be standing by, ready to answer your questions and take your order! And if you manage to stump them with an excellent question, they will search high and low to find you the answer. Put us to the test. You’ll see how we take care of business Online and on the Phone. Rant now officially over. Rant now officially over.
