NOTES FROM AN APOLOGETIC BANNER BARON
I’m not a big fan of puns, but sometimes I can’t help myself. I just can’t resist the urge to include them in these weekly messages because, at the time I write them, they sound clever. That online dictionary defines a pun as “the usually humorous use of a word in such a way as to suggest two or more of its meanings or the meaning of another word similar in sound”. The operative phrase here is “usually humorous”. Problem is, most people don’t laugh at a pun, they groan. Like that one about “boo-u-tiful” savings in the headline. That’s a REAL groaner. True PUNishment. But I wanted to get you thinking about Halloween which is, quite literally, right around the corner. You’re going to need signs, and banners, and other stuff that we sell so that you can sell the stuff that you sell. Or promote. Or give away. So, in exchange for this week’s exceptional savings, forgive my puns and get your Halloween orders in now. ‘Cause these deals are deadly. We’re talking frightening savings. Savings that will wake the dead. Heart-stopping bargains. Ok, I’m done. No more.
UNTIL NEXT WEEK.
