Trade show season is upon you along with all of the planning that goes with it. It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes an army to build a good trade show campaign. What’s that? All of the responsibility has fallen on your shoulders? You are the army, my friend!
So, what do you do? If you’re like most people, you start whizzing through Google to find the best trade show backdrops and ideas. That’s likely how you ended up here! Lucky for you, we’ll get you started with the most important part of your trade show week – your booth.
The world of trade show design is endless, but the main thing you need to worry about is standing out from the masses. Here are a few ideas that your competition probably aren’t considering.
1. Be Colorful
If you’ve ever looked at post-event photos, you’ll notice that the main floor is just a blur. With so many booths and directions to look, what stands out the most in a long line of retailers vying for your business?
Color. The brighter the better. Choose designs for your Backdrop and Banner Stands that stand out from the crowd and display your logo in a fun and modern way. Try using contrasting colors to create interest and make your brand pop. You’ll see in the example above we used our eSigns blue to contrast with a bright pink and yellow. Even with all of the fun color, the main thing you don’t miss is our logo.
2. Be Memorable
If you know your booth’s location ahead of time, you can really use the space to your advantage. Backed into a corner? Use Wall Decals!
With wall decals, your booth will flow perfectly with its environment and not look like the average pop-up store. You’ll still want to complete the look with banner stands and furniture elements, but the hard part – the background set up – is complete with some simple unrolling and sticking!
By using an abstract design you can create depth to your booth that the competition won’t have. You’ll see in this setup that we used our bright color idea from above combined with a fun abstract design. The result is a whimsical three-dimensional look that was achieved with two simple wall decals backed into a corner.
To make our brand pop, we chose a Banner Stand design that was fairly solid and simple and kept our eSigns.com logo bold and bright. You never want your branding to get lost! Make them remember who you are with thoughtful overall design and logo placement.
3. Use Imagery
What better way to showcase what your company does than using imagery of your process as a backdrop? Don’t confine yourself to one Banner Stand, use as many as you like to achieve a spectacle that is sure to make customers stop and gaze.
We print Vinyl Banners, thus we took a photo of a vinyl printer and applied it to create a backdrop design that no one will be expecting! Breaking up the image into multiple Banner Stands not only creates a backdrop for your booth but an image that surrounds your customers in an interesting and three-dimensional way. By doing this, we’ve really made them feel a part of our process — all from the showroom floor!
Lastly, we didn’t want our logo to be lost, but we also didn’t want it to pull the eye too much away from our backdrop design. Our solution was to create a giant Floor Decal that expands the booth. Simple, but extremely effective.
