A MESSAGE FROM THE BANNER BARON
Earlier this week, I examined the word “premium”. And, by the way, Premium Vinyl Banners are specially priced at eSigns.com through this Sunday night. But I now have a new favorite word. It’s “kerfuffle”. I like it even more when I say it with a British accent, since the British are pretty much the only people who say it. I hope to change that. Although it sounds like a pastry, kerfuffle refers to “a state of noisy, confused activity”. As in, “a bit of a kerfuffle this morning over who would sit in the front seat with Dad for the drive to school.” A kerfuffle is a disturbance. A hubbub. A hullabaloo. A ruckus. A rumpus. Wait, didn’t they use to have a special room for that? Tumult, turmoil, uproar. Pandemonium. Sorry, but none of these are as good as, or as fun to say, as kerfuffle. So, see if you can work it into a conversation today. But be prepared to explain what it means. And possibly show your passport.
