- Help drive more traffic to the tradeshow with road signs
- Use large displays to draw attention to your booth
- Use displays to promote high-demand giveaways
Trade shows are a fantastic way to get the word out about your business. Potential customers come to you! What could be better?
Well, the downside is that they’re coming to everyone else too, and that includes your direct competition.
Add to that the fact that so many of the people at trade shows don’t want to be there. Maybe their job required them to come, and they’re just milling around the convention center with no desire to buy or even look.
So how do you stand apart from the crowd? Before you order your new trade show signs, it’s time to think outside the booth to stand out.
Point the Way
Before we get to revamping your booth, we need to talk about preparing your audience. Strategically placed signs can ensure that potential customers walk in the door looking for you!
Consider the commute to the trade show. Why not put up directional signs (with your logo, of course) showing the way to the convention center? Drivers are more likely to take notice of a helpful sign, especially if they’re not familiar with the area.
And what about the venue itself? Sometimes you’ll find yourself in a show that takes up the whole center, but you’ll often be in a hotel or other shared venue instead. Ask management if you can put up a few displays to point the way. This definitely falls under the heading, “You’ll never know unless you ask!”
Bigger is Better
Now that you’ve given yourself a head start on getting audience attention, it’s time to talk booth signs.
It doesn’t take long at one of these trade shows to see that most booths are using tabletop signage . Nothing wrong with those, they’re great for displaying info to the people at your table, but how visible are they from across the room once the crowds show up?
Enter… The Backdrop.
There’s simply no better way to get attention and make a lasting impression than an 8-foot-square Jumbo Backdrop Banner Stand at your booth. Not only is it highly visible, but you can also use it as a selfie background for your customers!
Sure, it’s a pricier option, but it will serve your business for years to come. If you want to stand out, go big.
Give the People What They Want
This last tip is a great way to draw crowds and keep them if you don’t mind a little extra planning.
Instead of just printing your logo on a sign, how about adding some text in big bold print that reads “Free Water and Charging Station”?
Obviously, you’ll need plenty of bottled water (with your logo on the label) and outlets so customers can charge their phones, but the real secret is what’s happening while they’re taking their break.
You’ve got tons of potential customers at your booth listening to your pitch. They aren’t exactly going to wander off and leave their phones, are they?
The people who only grab a water bottle might leave right away, but that’s less likely if you put a recycling receptacle at your booth. Now it’s the only guilt-free place to toss the empty bottle.
It’s a little sneaky, but you know what they say. “All’s fair in love and trade shows.”
